Seton Hall is located just 14 miles west of New York City. It's a 30 min train ride into NY Penn Station from the South Orange Campus.

Research in the Badillo Lab centers on developing new catalytic reaction methodologies for organic synthesis. We are interested in the use of visible light-activated photoacid catalysis. In addition, we study systems that exploit the reactivity of cationic organocatalysts. Our lab is also interested in applying contemporary catalysis, such as photoredox catalysis, to synthesize biologically relevant small molecules and natural products. We investigate the biological activity of compounds synthesized in our lab through collaborations.
